Cronk Family Donation ~ The very rare, green Olympic pennant

Although we have been searching for 1960 Olympic items for many years this is the first “green” pennant we have ever come across. There are plenty of blue and red pennants in our collection – now, thanks to the Cronk family, we have the rare green one. As per Janet Cronk’s letter this originally was part of the William Corlett Estate, the architect of the ice skating rink and the designer of the Olympic logo. If you notice in the picture the logo is actually upside down on this pennant. The Cronk family also donated multiple rare magazine to the museum including Olympic editions of Time and Sports illustrated and a copy of the official Olympic program.

Thanks Cronk Family! We will soon put all of the items on display.
